At Classical World, we learn more than just paradigms and word drills. We learn real Latin from authentic Roman authors. Your student will learn about the culture, history, and people of Rome from actual Roman authors in their own language.

About the Course

Beginning Latin is the introductory course to the Latin language. It is designed for homeschooling High School students (grades 9-12). No previous background in Latin is necessary. If your child does have a background in Latin, this course may still be a good place to begin if you believe that review of some material would be beneficial. This course uses Classical Academy Press’s "Latin Alive!" Series. When you sign up for this course, you will receive access to the student portal where your student will access all the course material that is used alongside the book, as well as access to the link for the Live Class.  Book sold separately. Daily Lessons

In the Learner Hub students have access to daily grammar and vocabulary lessons, exercises, coursework, and quizzes. They can pause and rewind videos as needed and watch them at their own pace on their own schedule. 

Live Class

Every Friday at 10: 15 am, we meet together for a 45 minute Live Class to work on Latin readings and translations. We also discuss history and culture, and review material and ask questions. Class sizes are kept small to facilitate engagement.

Latin Community

Students can communicate and  collaborate together and have access to a community of like-minded Latin learners across the country. Students will also give presentations, post papers, and dialogue on homework topics here.

Hi, I'm your instructor, Kyle Brown

I have a deep love and appreciation for the Latin language and Roman history, and I've been blessed with the opportunity to teach these classes in a variety of settings. I've taught Latin to all types of students, from middle schoolers to graduate students and everything in between. As a classical homeschooling father, I also know how important it is to provide your children with the best quality education you can. That's why I'm offering these courses. It's my goal to help bridge the gap for parents who want to offer their children the best Classical Education they can, but perhaps don't have a strong Latin background themselves.
